If you want to make a special show-stopping delightful and unique cake for whatever special occasion you’ve got coming up, may we suggest a cookie dough layered cake? This (mostly) homemade cake is pretty simple, actually. We’re going to tell you how to make it using products meant to make life easier, but if you have your own favorite, from-scratch recipes for white cake and frosting, feel free to substitute those for the cake mix and store-bought frosting.

Layered cakes can be quite a dramatic dessert and people will just love that you went to the trouble of making this one!

First of all, you’ll need some delicious edible raw cookie dough from Dough Dreamery here in Parker, Colorado – we suggest using the chocolate chip flavor, but of course, you can use any flavor that tickles your fancy. You’ll want to coat a 9-inch round cake pan with non-stick cooking spray and also line the bottom with parchment paper – it’s helpful of the parchment paper comes up over the top of the edge of the pan, so you can remove the layer of cookie dough easily.. Pat the raw cookie dough evenly in the pan and pop it into the refrigerator to chill for a little while. Let it chill while you’re making and cooling the cake layers.

We are all about easy, so we’re suggesting that you buy your favorite white cake mix and bake up the cake layers from that. You’ll need two 9” round plain white cakes. You’ll also need some white frosting, and we love the cream cheese white frosting that you can buy off the shelf at your local grocery store. Better get at least two for this recipe.

When you’re ready to assemble the cake, place the first cake layer on a serving plate. Frost just the top with your white frosting. Then, carefully remove the layer of cookie dough and place it on top of the cake layer. Frost the cookie dough layer, again, just the top. Then place your second layer of cake on top of that. Finish frosting the entire cake, top and sides.

Once you’ve got the cake assembled and frosted, you can decorate the cake in any way you like. Use decorator frosting, fresh fruit, mini-chocolate chips or sprinkles of your choice. This is where you get to be creative! There’s plenty of simple ways to make a white cake look festive!
